GREW UP ON GRUNGE - A BLOG REVIEW

Well, when pursing through the timeline on Facebook, I noticed a post that an old friend had shared. Clicking on it, which took me to an retro blog design. I almost clicked the return button, but than realizing I shouldn't dismiss so quickly, so I took a second glance. So, I realized that it was two old high school friends who had constructed and also host this blog called GREW UP ON GRUNGE. where they "write monthly music reviews, music news, and other interesting information from two thirty-somethings". Reading some articles, they are brief but they discover some true gems, to help you expand your play list on your phone.

I was pleasantly surprise to see Joel and Brandon for the last six months articulating an era that they and well I too grew up and enjoyed. I am glad to see them both too take up blogging as they're both intelligent and where successful throughout high school. So, I know that what they will publish will be good and passionate content, so take look.

"SMELLING LIKE TEEN SPIRIT
I COULD HAVE GUESSED
SUPERMAN IS DEAD.

WHEN I COME AROUND
I DON'T WANT TO SWIM
HEAD STILL FUZZY I MUST CONFESS."

Nice to see you guys and hope we can converse in the future.

PRESTIGIOUS JUDGEMENT - THE UNSUNG ART

Odd that some art forms are more prestigious and others. Even some are considered juvenile or even crude by some.

This seems unfair to those you have a natural talent with creating "beauty" from "nothing". That being judged by those who so easily dismiss what is created is not considered art. Both trained and untrained ear can distinguish a melody that is beautiful and rhythmic. So, if it's a pleasant tune, accessorizing with emotion, than to me it's music.

Additionally, it is an interpretation and others are allowed to have their own opinion, but sometimes keep it to yourself. Especially if don't have something nice to say. How do we think music was created in beginning anyways? Through invention and the artistic mind.

Thinking about this topic when seeing a video on you tube. This homeless man was recorded playing
Radiohead's "Creep". The initial reaction to is wow this guy isn't famous? His deep raspy voice sung the tune with so much passion, you could feel his pain. So, if your guessing the moral of the story, is of course don't judge the book's cover. Though we do, and I think it is an instinct. Yet even though we do does not mean, we cannot look pass the preconceptions and see others potential.

"PLAYING A TUNE
RHYTHMIC BEAT.

WAVES IN AIR
TUNED TO EAR.

BUSTLING STREETS
IGNORE THE BEAT.

PRESUME JUVENILE
ON CITY STREETS.

CONTINUING ON
NOT A CARE.

EVENTUALLY
LOOSE CHAINS WILL JINGLE.

CONTINUING ON
NOT A CARE.

BUT FOR THE LOVE
OF HER SONG."
