WINDMILLS ON THE HILL - RENEWABLE ENERGIES

As we were returning from our vacation in PEI you get see a lot of country side along the way. One thing I notice was the windmill farm situated along distant hillside off the TransCanada Highway near Moncton, NB.

From the highway they seem like the pin wheels I used to get when I was a child, carefree blowing into its propellers and watching the colours blend together the faster they went.

An Armenian immigrant toy manufacturer,
Tegran M. Samour, invented the modern version
of the pinwheel in 1918
But actually, these windmill farms are massive, each standing tall at 400 feet tall and with blades 50 yards long, which I'm under the impression would be  ascetically displeasing and I have heard that there are health concerns of headaches and respiratory issues too.

However they quiet giants do generate around 1.5 MW per  windmill with a low maintenance cost, so they becoming appealing to reduce green house emissions. This source of generation power accounts for almost  12000 MW.

"PREVAILING WINDS

In your opinion do think that Windmill Generation is the best option we have to a renewable source of energy? Has anyone heard the affects that these generators have on the prevailing winds? Please comment below.
