OH CANADA, YOU'RE 150 - HAPPY CANADA DAY

Mix feelings come to my heart, while in celebration of Canada's 150th birthday of Confederation.

There needs to be a balance between tradition and progression, as to maintain an equilibrium in one's society and culture.

So, when I seen the Canada 150th symbol I was a bit annoyed,
as I found this to be an encroachment to our very proud symbol of our society. That has identified globally that all are welcomed that bring a positive influence into our "melting pot".

However, the government decided that they would host of contest for student to design a logo this celebration. So first of all, this is not to deflate the designer, Ariana Cuvin. As her design was selected to signify the 150th celebration, as it holds significance to Canada's Confederation.

The question I have is why the government felt the need to alter our national symbol that has established the point of not be recognized as our symbol.
